A 15-year-old boy was injured in a wakeboarding accident over Memorial Day weekend. According to police reports, the accident occurred on the Des Moines River.

The boy apparently was wakeboarding when the board flipped and hit the water so hard that he was left unconscious. When medical officials arrived, the boy was taken to Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, where he was treated for head injuries.
