Received Justice for My Mom May 6, 2024

LaMarca Law Group represented my family in a wrongful death negligence case against a care facility. The victim was my 86-year-old mother. Two other law firms told me they couldn't take the case, mainly because they didn't think it was worth enough money. James and his colleagues handled the research and hiring expert witnesses to prove our case. The care facility was uncooperative, so James filed an official lawsuit. We ended up going to mediation and were able to settle the case after battling back and forth. James told us exactly what to expect and represented us in the manner we chose. He did not pressure us to settle for anything less than what we wanted. It was a very good financial settlement, but more importantly, we all stood up for my mom and received as much justice as was possible, which was all we could hope for. No amount of money will bring my mom back, but I do feel satisfaction that my mom's case might help other elderly people who need someone to stand up for them. My experience with LaMarca Law Group and Chad Knapp began as a result of the absolute most trying time of my life. I had just lost my firstborn son in a motorcycle accident. Due to the circumstances, a friend sent me a list of personal injury lawyers and insisted I needed one. The first call I was told I had a case, but the gentleman would discuss it with a partner and call me back if he decided to take it. The second call ended when I was told I didn't have a case. The third call I probably had a case and could call back if I wanted to pursue it. It was after the fourth call a decision was made to go forward with this. And I don't even recall what Mr. Knapp said to me, but it was how he spoke to me. I didn't feel like a 'case'. He spoke with a softness that was suitable for the situation and acknowledged the pain I was in. He spoke about laws, and codes and facts but delivered it with empathy and comfort. It was the same for the next 12 months, every call or email was relayed with care and concern and ended with him asking if I had any questions or needed anything. During periods where things were moving slow I received check-in calls or an email from Stephanie Martinez, which she always closed with 'Have a great weekend.' The difficulties I experienced just from losing my son alone, dealing with an unexpected lawsuit shouldn't have been so 'easy' for me. And I don't believe it would have without Chad Knapp, Stephanie Martinez, Justin Reid, and LaMarca Law Group.
