Worker Injured in Fort Dodge Bridge Collapse

A worker was injured when a bridge deck collapsed in Fort Dodge Monday morning.

According to officials with the Fort Dodge Fire Department, workers were beginning to remove part of the deck on the U.S. Highway 169 bridge early Monday when the deck collapsed and fell about 20 feet. The workers were employed by Minnowa Construction Inc., of Harmony, Minnesota.

According to Fort Dodge Fire Chief David Luers, a worker suffered a cut on his forehead and a wrist injury. The worker was transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment. No information on the extent of his injuries was available.
